Late last week the Twins completed deals with 3 of the 5 arbitration eligible players. Jason Kubel received a 1-year $1.3 million deal, Juan Rincon got a 1-year $2.475 million deal and Justin Morneau got a deal that will pay him $7.4 million dollars.

Morneau collides with Olivo The Twins tied the Marlins 4-4 in the eighth, but it came with a huge cost. Scott Ulger initially held up Justin Morneau on a Jason Kubel double to left, but when Josh Willingham had trouble fielding the ball in left he sent Morneau home. The ball beat Morneau and he was forced to collide with Miguel Olivo who was blocking home plate. Olivo missed the ball, Morneau was safe and even Kubel came around to tie the game. Morneau was slow to get up though and came out of the game after that inning.

Twins power past White Sox

The Twins 9-2 victory over the White Sox on Tuesday night clinched a fourth straight series win for the Twins as they've quickly become the hottest team in the AL Central. They've won 6 of their last 7 and moved into a third place tie with the White Sox and trail the Cleveland Indians by 5.5 games.

Santana and Morneau dominate Rangers

Johan Santana entered Tuesday's game against Texas coming off his most dominate start of the season last week in Cleveland. On Tuesday night he did even better. He had 7 strikeouts through three innings and left the game after the seventh with a season high 13 strikeouts. His only run allowed was on Sammy Sosa's 598th career homer.

Morneau walks off in victory

Justin Morneau gave the Twins an early lead on Tuesday night with a solo home run in the second inning. The Twins saw that lead vanish in the third and then a Boof Bonser throwing error allowed 3 runs to score in the sixth inning which gave the White Sox a 4-1 lead. The offense for the Twins continued to fail. They weren't getting timely hits and when they had runners on base they were hitting into double plays. Another loss seemed imminent until the eighth.

Twins win opener

The Twins' home opener had just about everything you could hope for. Joer Mauer started off with a single and the Twins got on the board in the 2nd inning with back-to-back solo homers from Justin Morneau and Torii Hunter. Johan Santana wasn't perfect, but he did accomplish something that took him nearly the full month of April last season--he picked up his first win of the season.

Eighth Inning Comeback in KC

Most people expected the Twins to win this game, but the win came in an unexpected way. Johan Santana gave up 5 runs and the Twins found themselves down 5-3 going into the eighth. The game started off well with Justin Morneau hitting a 2-run homerun in the second and Joe Mauer hitting a solo shot in the sixth.

Morneau Provides Power

Twins fans haven't had much opportunity to witness how valuable the home run can be at times; on Friday night Justin Morneau gave us a showing of the difference a longball can make. Morneau hit a 3-run homer in the 4th inning to put the Twins in the lead 3-1 and those were the only 3 runs scored in the first 7 innings of the game. Walks and a Tiffee error cost the Twins the lead in the 4th inning, putting the Orioles up 5-3.
